My name is Valerie Elder. I have a home day care. For over 20yrs. I now have to work another job too. I am 65 yrs. old. I love my child care job. I am so tired sometimes. The children need me. Because the parents will not do their job. We cannot make them. The Lord is right. It takes a Village .I have to pray all the time. The pay stinks. But, I love my job . We all have to do better in this world. Parents teach your children. Teachers do the best you can. Because he is watching all of us.
Every single person deserves compassionate and evidence-based healthcare. Please help our trans ohana and friends get the care they need to thrive. Mahalo.
Gender-affirming care saved my life. It is not just healthcare—it is survival. As attacks on trans rights escalate across the mainland and federal government, Hawaii must remain a place of safety and dignity. Governor Green, I urge you to do everything in your power to protect our community: safeguard access to care, shield providers from those who seek to punish them for offering essential treatment, and defend families supporting their loved ones. Trans people in Hawaii deserve to live, thrive, and receive the care we need without fear.
Our keiki deserve high quality, evidence-based medical care. Medical decisions should be made by the family in conjunction with their healthcare provider and not by somebody 2500 miles away in Washington, D.C. As a pediatrician I know the benefits of providing gender-affirming cafe, and the consequences of children not having access to it.
My child is trans & needs gender affirming care completely covered by quest. Quest does not cover egg harvesting or the speech therapy he needs, so he can start the hormones to transition.
