I know what it's like to experience something incredibly traumatic and have to push through and put myself through more grief by attending school imediately after. I cannot imagine how these students feel after having their lives threatened and being absolutely shocked to their core. Please excuse absences and give them rest, it will mean the most to them in the long run and will prevent so many preventable scenarios.

This is completely insane. Mental health is real, and this is completely unacceptable to expect students to return to the scene just days after they witnessed something so horrific

Please have empathy for them and don’t force them into something they are not in the right mental headspace for.

I am more than thrown from the lack of empathy for the affected and remote learning/testing is truly the bare minimum a prestigious university should offer. No one will remember their final lectures but everyone will remember how FSU handled this atrocity.

Not only students are traumatized but professor and FSU staff are also trying to recover from this. We have the resources for distance learning. All of us feared to be shot on Thrusday, the least FSU can do for us is this petition.

However, no longer allowing teams to utilize any part of Florida State’s well known symbols and branding is unacceptable. The men’s and women’s club teams compete FOR Florida State University and should be allowed to do so behind uniforms that make them proud to be students.
Julia supported: Restore FSU Pride: allow the lacrosse club to use Florida State LogosAs a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast, and former Lacrosse Club Team President, who had to deal with similar changes it’s absurd to not be able to use school logos and phrases. While FSU Men’s Lacrosse might not be a varsity sport, they still represent the university with great pride and should be allowed to continue the ability to represent a school with unique history and tradition. The officers spend countless hours of blood, sweat, and tears behind the scenes to help run their program to the best of their ability. If the issue is trying to distinct a club sport between a varsity sport, there are better ways to go about this issue than to essentially ban the use of all logos, designs and phrases. Look at schools like U of Florida, who have to add a small sports clubs logo to their uniforms, socials, etc… yet are still allowed to represent and utilize their schools design assets.

I always wanted to play, but we never had rinks or leagues. Just as I heard of a LA Warehouse where people played, a HS Teammate from up north, with lots of equipment came to stay, and we attempted to play...but warehouse had been shut down.
So in the late 80's & 90's my only options were Floor Hockey in Intramurals. Though I owned my own skates, I had no place to play. In the 2000's I moved to Texas and loved teaching #Skating101 at School! While it was roller, it worked for PE. I also petitioned #DallasStarsStreetHockey to come for a visit or 2 as we did Hockey & Skating in both our Fall & Spring Curriculum.
Everyone deserves the chance to play, compete, and develop skills for the ice, and even the great eye / hand coordination! Please Share and/or Donate!
