The topic of farmers rights is crucial in todays society as it touches on issues of fair treatment, economic sustainability, and environmental stewardship within the agricultural sector. Petitions under this topic often highlight the struggles faced by farmers, including issues related to land rights, fair wages, access to resources, and protection from exploitation by corporations.
One notable petition calls for fair compensation for farmers producing essential goods, citing the disparity between the prices they receive and the profits made by middlemen. Another petition focuses on supporting small-scale farmers and indigenous communities by advocating for land rights and sustainable farming practices.
By exploring and supporting these petitions, individuals can contribute to a more equitable and sustainable agricultural system that prioritizes the well-being of farmers and the environment. Join the movement to empower farmers and ensure their rights are respected for a more just food system.

I lost several chicks that were shipped to a customer because of negligence by the post office. The chicks were 2 days late getting to the customer and it caused them to perish. The post office allowed them to sit in their warehouse or truck for days. This was devastating.
I appreciate the concern but why is the petitioner still shipping one day old chicks if he knows they are suffering? One day old chicks should be with their mothers, not in containers being shipped like cargo.
We have backyard chickens, and it is an amazing experience. We are able to collect and eat the most nutritious and fresh eggs. We spend more time as a family being around them. They benefit our environment. We share eggs with our neighbors and find that they are fascinated with the chickens also.
I proudly and effectively served as the HFM Market Manager from from 2015-2019, and ended my time there because I undecided to relocate to another state. The relationships I formed with our farmers and locally focused food producing vendors are still relations I have today. I made sure we had farmer vendors on the board, and for the most part people felt their voices heard, needs addressed, and a sense of supportive community every single week. Casual conversations with vendors often turned into Board Agenda issue, or a meeting to address more significant issues.
On my last Saturday as Market Manager (early August 2019), the entire market came to cheer for me and express their gratitude for all that work we did together over those years. I was balling like a baby just feeling so surrounded with love, support and the recognition of a job well done. I’m saddled to tears now learning of all the changes made by current staff and Board members that deteriorates the values that were built up by the HFM community over the last 28 years. I still visit the market when in Portland, unfortunately the changes are palpable to someone that knows the space and people very well. It will be a long felt loss to the Hollywood and great Portland community if the current decision makers for HFM are unable to find a way to repair the damage and injustice being brought forth.

I believe 100% that Todd Mullis is innocent! Growing up on a farm, I know first hand that freak accidents can & will happen & this is one of those freak accidents. Todd's own son told investigators that his dad was with him the entire time, so when would he have had time to commit murder?
Just watched the tv show and wow. I feel bad for Todd. WE feel like he didnt do it. he should have a retrial. They had no proof that he killed her.. The voice on the 911 isnt clear and ridiculous to give him life because of that. They had nothing!. Could of been anyone in that barn waiting for her! She could of been talking to another guy no one knew about and waiting for her in the barn or an ex! She had many affairs. Big deal that the husband was jealous and watching what she was doing, of course he would because she cheated. He wanted his family together. I watch my bf and iam jealous but doesn't mean someone would kill them. NO evidence. The son went to get water. theres NO way he went to kill his wife and then clean up and back in barn that quick of time when son came back. FREE TODD...WRONG thing they did.
His son got water and theres no way he would have time to kill his wife and clean up before son is back. They just wanted to blame someone.. Its awful that they through people in prison with out 100% being sure. So many people are probaly innocent.
