Currently, the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) Memorandum Order restricts the sale of pesticides and fertilizers online, limiting farmers' access to vital tools that enhance crop yield and pest resistance. This regulation may have been designed with safety in mind, but it inadvertently creates hurdles for farmers like me who rely on timely access to these supplies. I urge the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority to revise the existing memorandum order to allow and regulate the online sale of pesticides and fertilizers, incorporating strict safety standards and quality control measures to ensure the well-being of both farmers and consumers. By doing so, they would empower Filipino farmers to adapt to modern technology, enhance productivity, and maintain the competitive edge needed in today's market.
