DO NOT MESS WITH OUR FLORIDA BLACK BEARS. They are not the issue, humans are. Florida has a serious problem with overpopulation, and our natural habitats are being destroyed daily to make way for new and unnecessary residential and commercial developments. Our bears have NO WHERE else to go. The majority of Floridians are opposed to bear hunts, but the intentional wording of Amendment 2 to cause confusion among constituents worked and was passed this election. I live in an area of Orange City teeming with black bears near Blue Springs, and I have never once witnessed any form of aggression. In fact, I'm overjoyed every time I see my "Little Bear" stop by for a drink from my bird bath, and have absolutely no problem co-existing with them. The proposal for a bear hunt is not only cruel and barbaric, but completely unnecessary. Let us not forget the disastrous hunt in 2015 that was shut down within 48 hours due to the alarming number of bear deaths. DO NOT SUPPORT HB 87.
I have worked as a trash man for over 15 years, cleaning up tourist areas as well as my own home from Florida blackbears, getting in the trash and have came face-to-face with these bears many times and they have never shown any signs of aggression. These poor creatures have had their habitat taken from them and now people want to hunt them I hope it can be stopped. Florida is over fished and over hunted, and on its way to be depleted of the wild Wife that makes Florida so unique these poor creatures must be protected
Lived here all of my life and to see the old Florida go and turn to concrete and our wildlife being pushed out without flora or fauna to live and feed is heartbreaking. Purchase more protected lands instead of killing our native habitats.
Please protect our iconic Florida Black Bears from another disastrous hunt. They are beautiful animals that deserve the right to live their lives in peace, not hunted down in cruel ways, killed and then hanged on a wall or placed on the floor as some hunter's trophy. Protect the black bear for All Floridians to enjoy-ensure the bears remain alive, free and wild!! Thank you! Veto HB 87-Taking of Bears

We have place in Ocala National forest. Bears will walk freely in the yard not once have they ever been aggressive. I have sat in lawn chair
by fire pit and watch them walk down the road. They bring their babies through the property. If you yell they will run away. Between bears, deers, foxes and coyotes they all have been roaming in and out since we built 2008.
I moved in their home with all the construction going on from overload of building in Florida.
