Halt the RV Campsite Development in Farragut State Park's Equestrian Area

The Issue

I am a local rider who has been enjoying the trails of Farragut State Park for 25 years. This park, particularly the Peterson area on its North side, has been a significant part of my life and my family's. I've run Extreme Trail Challenges here, camped at numerous locations, and raised my daughter on these trails. It is not just a place for recreational activities but also a sanctuary where nature thrives and locals should be welcome year round.

However, our beloved equestrian park is under threat. Farragut State Park has received funding to build an 11.5 acre RV campsite within this equestrian use area - complete with full electrical hookups, restrooms, showers and RV pads. This development threatens to disrupt the natural habitat that we have worked so hard to preserve over the years.

The proposed development not only jeopardizes our cherished riding trails but also poses potential environmental risks due to increased human activity and infrastructure in what should remain a natural setting.

We understand that tourism can bring economic benefits but it should not come at such high costs - especially when it compromises spaces dedicated for specific uses like our equestrian park.

This petition seeks your support in halting all development plans of this RV park within Farragut State Park's equestrian area. We need your help in preserving this space for future generations of riders and nature lovers alike.

Please sign this petition if you believe in protecting our precious green spaces from unnecessary developments.
