Economic justice is a crucial topic that addresses the fair distribution of wealth, resources, and opportunities in society. Recent trends have highlighted income inequality, corporate greed, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable communities, sparking calls for systemic change.
Petitions under this topic often focus on raising the minimum wage, advocating for affordable housing, and demanding fair treatment of workers. One petition with thousands of signatures urges companies to provide living wages to their employees, highlighting the struggles of low-income workers to make ends meet. Another petition calls for rent control measures to prevent gentrification and displacement of marginalized communities.
By exploring and supporting these petitions, you can contribute to a more equitable society and help address the root causes of economic injustice. Join the movement for economic justice and empower individuals to thrive in a fair and sustainable economy.
This is heartbreaking. I love buying from small businesses and wanted to set up my own but after hearing of these regulations and being forced to pay fees when i dont even know how much i would sell to begin with, it feels like a punch in the gut. I dont understand why small businesses would be forced to pay sich fees when big corporations are the ones producing the most waste!
I have a micro business and this will completely stop me from growing my company across Europe. It seems like instead of supporting young people to grow and develop business the government is constantly throwing obstacles that will completely stop them from growing and operating. Huge challenge for those who have small budgets but want to make a better living for themselves.
As an artist dreaming of selling my art to a living - this breaks my heart. Large corporations won't blink an eye at the fees, but one person sending a few tiny, handmade packages to the EU? All this is doing is crushing the small business owners so that the only thing left are mega corporations. Please, please reconsider.
I’m a tax paying Minnesotan. I have a child on the spectrum and have been pushed back on waitlist after waitlist and now finding out they used that system to make all this happen enrages me.
As a young adult and small business owner- I am so sad to see the state and cities I once loved so much absolutely crumble and divide. No dream is possible anymore.
I’m 31 years old, have a kid on the way and am looking to sell my house. Property tax increases over the last 5 years have made owning a home unaffordable. Adding a kid on top of that, my hands were forced. Getting rid of fraud and abuse is the only way to lower costs for Minnesotans. Adding money to an affordability issue only creates more unaffordability issues. Something needs to be done.
Alaskans are fed up with being treated like an afterthought while our elected officials reward themselves with raises and mismanage the budget. The Permanent Fund Dividend was created to ensure that every Alaskan shares in the wealth of our natural resources—not to be siphoned off to cover political shortfalls. Meanwhile, schools are closing, community centers are shuttered, and families are struggling to afford heating fuel just to survive the winter. If budgeting a government is hard, try budgeting a household with no safety net. We demand accountability, transparency, and the restoration of the full PFD. It’s time our leaders remembered who they serve.
