Relying on the PSTA bus system is essential for my daily life. As a student, I use the buses to commute from school to work, volunteer activities, the library, and for personal errands. Recently, the discontinuation of free student fares has severely impacted my schedule and finances. I am now missing buses, thrown off my schedule, and forced to spend money I simply do not have. There's already a UPASS system established to help students like me, which makes it even more frustrating to face these unnecessary expenses.

Public transportation should be accessible to all students so they can focus on their education and future, not financial burdens that could deter their progress. Imagine the stress and anxiety not just for me, but for countless students who now face this hurdle in their education journey, affecting both their academic and personal opportunities.

Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) should consider the long-term benefits of reinstating free student fares around the clock. Providing 24/7 free bus rides to students would support educational equity, allowing every student regardless of their economic background to have the necessary access to reliable public transportation. It would help countless students maintain their schedules without financial worries and ensure they successfully reach their destinations every day.
