Dogs are beloved companions and a significant part of many households worldwide. Recent trends show an increase in adoption and rescue efforts, emphasizing the importance of animal welfare and responsible ownership. Petitions on Change.org related to dogs address various issues such as animal abuse, neglect, breed-specific legislation, and puppy mills.
One impactful petition with thousands of signatures calls for stricter punishment for animal abusers, highlighting the need for justice and protection for innocent animals. Another petition advocates for the end of puppy mills, exposing the harsh conditions and lack of care for breeding dogs.
By exploring and supporting these petitions, you can stand up against animal cruelty and work towards creating a safer and more compassionate world for dogs. Your involvement can make a positive impact on the lives of these loyal and loving animals.
Having known Apollo since he was a 4 month old puppy, I am appalled this petition is even happening. Apollo is best friends with my dog (a 43lb 4yr old mix breed). They grew up together and I’ve never ONCE had any hesitations about Apollo.
My dog Tucker (male 85 lb husky/lab mix) met Apollo last year. Not only did they get along, but my dog is an anxious dog, and being around Apollo actually calmed him down because he watched Apollo let strangers come and pet him, signaling it was ok. It’s not fair to evict him from his home when he clearly has so many supporters and positive experiences with other dogs and humans.
This is unacceptable! Animals are a lifetime commitment! Many service members are stationed in Hawaii and should be provided the resources to take their animals with them when they PCS! Also more screening for potential adopters needs to happen! With each of my cats, I had to provide a list of references and a background check was completed to make sure I was safe to adopt my cats. Animals deserve better!
For people who truly love their pets as family should know if one of their pets have been found deceased to give them some sort of closure. For me personally I would want to know if that was my pet.
I do not express any views on the employment issue here, but I’m signing this petition for Tiko. The bond between dog and handler is even closer than that of pet and owner. Uprooting a dog from his family, his handler, and his home is unfair and cruel; Tiko has formed bonds we can’t possibly understand with someone he has worked with for years. Not allowing this officer to purchase and care for Tiko is cruel. This decision demonstrates that the department merely views Tiko as a weapon or tool to be turned in at the end of employment, rather than as an intelligent being capable of forming a bond with a specific person that cannot be broken, explained away, or replaced.
We know what we want. We want Miami -Dade to care for our homeless animals. We want Miami -Dade to be a caring place. We tried years ago and were told we were stupid , that we don’t understand what we voted for, we did. Please follow through and give us hope and comfort for our homeless animals.
