I’m so heartbroken to hear this. The church is such a wonderful institution and presence in the community. I’ve volunteered with the fort fridge team a number of times and seeing the impact it has on so many in the community is heartwarming. I just can’t believe such an essential institution would be shut down!! I really hope this decision is reconsidered!

FWCC offers a multitude of neighborhood activities: community gardening, food availability through “The Fort Fridge” for those in need, a home to community arts organizations, and twelve step meetings, to name a few.
As a member, it has been a personal rock in my life for the past 10 years.
I know that many people are in agreement that closing the doors will leave a large personal hole as well as a crater in the neighborhood. Please stand with us to turn this decision around.

There has to be another solution other than wholesale selling it and replacing it with just more commercial real estate. There are religious communities, arts groups, and many others who rely on this space. Religious spaces are slowly disappearing across the city. Don’t let this be another one.
