Let's finish this project for the community! This season we have had 2 games and 3 training sessions washed out already! Invest in the community for 1. Public Health and Wellbeing. 2. Youth Engagement and Social Development. 3. Community Cohesion. 4. Talent Development and Opportunity. Economic Benefits to local businesses. 5. Durability and Cost-Efficiency..........The question should not be whether we can afford these facilities—but whether we can afford to go without them. This is not just about football; it’s about creating a stronger, healthier, and more connected community
We are constantly seeing countless trainings and games called off across the area. Anyone that has any been around long enough knows that the site is not suitable for a turf pitch.
As climate change continues to worsen, more and more games, trainings and community events will be called off due to inclement weather.
The ground has been unusable for going on 5 years at this point due to constant meddling and council mismanagement. Enough is enough. Finish the project.
Having worked on this project for 4 years in a volunteer capicity 2018-2022 for the west pymble football club , only signing off when council formally agreed to build the facility. I’m dismayed and disappointed at the decision of elected councillors that the football club chose to endorse and promote, a club and community that now been betrayed.
Millions have been raised by the local community and thousands have supported this important community endeavour.
The real losers here are the children in our local community, denied the opportunity to participate in their sport and recreation.
We have been watching and waiting for this pitch to be finished for so long now. Games & training are cancelled regularly for our kids, skills are not being developed as much as they could if playing weekly, let’s get the field completed as promised !
Half my games were cancelled last year due to washouts, most of our competitors have got synthetic grounds to train on, how will we ever be able to compete if council doesn't allow us the grounds we need.
My young children love to play sport and be involved with their local team. This field is desperately needed. Ku ring gai needs to support healthy community activity.
We fund raised hard for this synthetic pitch and we’ve waited long enough. Every rainy day our kids can’t train or play is another day our kids turn on their computer games. Come on council - just get it done for the well being of our kids.
As a mum of two young girls who love playing football, it is just so incredibly disappointing to see Council once again stalling the delivery of this important piece of community infrastructure.
Our kids just want a place to play sport. There are not enough grounds, and so many of the grass fields in the area do not have proper drainage and are closed more often than not in the rainy winter months.
We have an obesity epidemic and significant mental health challenges in this country. You’d think provision of facilities that support physical activity - which we know supports physical and mental health - would be a top priority.
Stop mucking around with more consultation and reviews and just finish the job.
As an ex-player and coach of the West Pymble FC of 10 years, natural grass has not worked and will not work. Japan fixes Earthquake damages to roads and buildings within a week, how does it take 3 years to do a football field and still not finished? Please honour the promises and complete this local community part funded project!
This entire area is known by name of Berwick springs and there’s so many memories and feelings attached to this place and by changing the name, all of that will vanish.
