As a resident of Pleasanton, the library has been a special place for us to learn, discover, and connect with our community. Cutting library services would deeply impact so many of us. Please keep our library strong for future generations!
The Pleasanton Public Library is vital to our community. The library offers a space to study and learn. Patrons can enhance their education through various resources, including books, news sources such as the New York Times, and reading programs for young people. As Ocean Vuong says, "reading is to live in two worlds at once."
The Pleasanton library is the heartbeat of our community! It is truly the one designated space in our City where every person is welcome, and the benefits of the library enrich my family’s lives every day. It’s current hours keep its services accessible to those of us who work, and it would be such a disservice to lose them.
The library provides a safe space for our community, especially after school. Also on the weekends it is a haven for families, seniors, and individuals in the community. I am deeply saddened about the closure on Sundays, as that is the day i most often have the time to go. My children are young adults now, but we went every week throughout their childhoods, and the volunteered in the summer reading program as they got older. Please keep the library open at the current schedule.
Pleasanton is a family town. How can we be supportive of families if we cut hours to the library? Libraries are incredible resources, particular for people with financial challenges. We need to remember that we are only as strong our weakest link. Pleasanton needs to do it's best to support it's people by keep the library hours.
The public library is a vital community and learning space. Cutting half the books and slashing hours and terminating staff and eliminating programs will only hurt our city and our future.
The library has been such an amazing place for so many years of my life, whether it was to get books or study. The library has been a big part of my childhood, and I have made so many great memories there. Budget cuts would take that chance away from younger kids, and that's not right.
Please don’t reduce library hours! Evening hours during the week are critical for older PUSD students and weekend hours are so important for busy families with young children. Reduced hours is reduced access — please keep our library open!
