I'm a 56 year old disabled woman with a college degree, certifications and many years of professional work experience. I have been unemployed and looking for a job for almost 4 years. I have submitted 1000s of applications, only to jobs where I meet at least 90% of the requirements, but can't remember the last time I was even asked to interview. Something is very very broken in our hiring processes here in America.
I’m used to getting a job in a day, but now I’m at the US average because the use of AI is amplifying and perpetuating unique factors in this job market to make it much more difficult to get a job. Because recruiters used AI to manage applicants to remote jobs, applicants are using AI to automatically apply to the same jobs and recruiters are being laid off due to increasing healthcare and legal costs, adding further overwhelm. The need to adjust each resume to every posting means it can take at least an hour to apply to one job, and the only resumes that get through to the hiring manager are those with a 95% match, making it very difficult to change careers. The time needed to alter every resume to every job posting reduces the likelihood of being able to play the numbers game and burns out the applicant, both of which reduces the likelihood of getting a job. This is not just affecting the IT industry , but is even trickling down to part-time jobs for which I’m overqualified.
I have unfortunately, been in front of this judge & witnessed first hand her wrath of misconduct. I campaign for her and when the father of my child filed an Exparte based on hearsay l was forced to attend this woman’s court she, disrespected me, screamed, yelled, degraded me and continued a hearing without my attorney as he was stuck on the interstate due to accident on the highway., she looked at and said she was going to take my children from me and knew the witness testifying.
Thank god I got her recused
