The cats on campus has made my time here at BC so much better, waiting in between classes, the sun beating down, waiting for my next class feeling a bit stressed when suddenly one of the friendliest cats I’ve ever met wanders up to me, nuzzles her little face up to my leg and lets me pet her. Suddenly all my stresses are gone, it’s just me and this little feline who trusted me enough to wander up to me. One of the most memorable things of campus life are these cats who we see every day, who would want anything different.
The cats are beneficial to the students by helping relieve stress and providing company while studying or even just a simple visit. Lots of people would be devastated if the cats were removed. Being removed would also be stressful for the cats. Imagine living in your house one day, then being removed and not understanding why. That would be so sad 😢
When I first came to south campus I was very anxious because I didn’t know anyone in any of my classes and one of the cats came up to me and let me pet them. Since then they’ve been one of the things I look forward to seeing everyday at school. They bring me comfort and happiness just knowing they’re around.
I've interacted with so many of the cats on campus and have grown attached to 2 handfuls that I recognize and regularly see, always taking a picture or 50 every time I see them, petting and relaxing with them for at least 10 minutes each time. They make a bad day better and a good day amazing, I love them all so much and it saddens me to think that there are actually people that would want them gone and possibly killed :(
my mom has been working at south campus as a professor for 24 years! for years i’ve followed her around this campus and even went to the daycare that used to be offered there! these kittys always brightened my day when we passed by them and in my 20 years of being around that campus they never caused any harm ☹️
The cats are important to the students! They keep the students company while studying at the tables and they are so sweet. Its good to keep them for mental health.
The cats are welcomed and needed. Not all cats can have a forever family of their own. Recognize these cats show their appreciation and the students do the same.
