My son has a similar story. We are in Surrey. Though our MACC program has not been cancelled yet, we are not sending him to the program as having him attend a different school than his twin brother is not a viable option to us. The challenge program he does attend will be cut from 3 teachers to 2 next year. He is also given zero opportunity to develop his talents past this program. It is not enough support for him and we have been told we will have to develop his talent at home ourselves. It is a shame the public system is not funded adequately enough to give him the education he deserves without supplementing it privately.

My son is thriving in the program. The MACC classrom environment and support has made an important difference to his life.
MACC is one of four outstanding Burnaby school programs that have served students for many years and are slated to be cut in this year's Burnaby school budget. If this comes to pass, Burnaby students will lose vital support for their needs and opportunities that have long benefited them.
