Maintaining traditional common names for birds, such as the Blue-footed Booby and Bushtit, as well as eponyms like Wilson's Warbler or Audubon's Shearwater, preserves cultural, historical, and scientific continuity. These names often carry unique stories or historical significance that connect people to nature and the history of ornithology. Changing names risks confusing both the scientific community and the public, disrupting long-standing educational materials and conservation efforts. While inclusivity and sensitivity are crucial in naming practices, careful consideration should balance these values with the need for consistency, historical context, and the emotional resonance that familiar names inspire in fostering a connection to wildlife.

I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma at 38 with no family history. I found the lump myself because the tumor was pressed against the skin and easy to find. Screenings for all women should start at 35 based on the new trends for more women in their 30s getting diagnosed.

BCBS denied my doctor's request to give my Perjeta during my adjuvant therapy. This increases my chance of recurrence and decreases my chance for survival from this terrible disease. BCBS, you KNOW it's the SOC. Do the right thing. Please!

I lost my sister to TNBC in 2022. If there had been ANYTHING left to help her, I would’ve demanded it! Wouldn’t you???????? Insurance companies do not need to have THIS MUCH POWER to determine life or death!

I wish I'd known about this when I was diagnosed with stage 0 DCIS in 2019. Maybe I could have avoided a unilateral mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, radiation, infections, hyperbaric chamber visits due to tissue's inability to heal, which finally led to a DIEP flap and multiple reconstructions. I was lucky compared to many but still drained 2 years of my life. Cancer treatments should be about finding the best solution for the patient, not lining the pockets of big pharma and the healthcare system.

I support breast cancer because i understand what it feels like to fight for your life and 1/100 actually survive that killer disease

My mom had breast cancer a while ago, and though it went relatively really well from what I'm aware(I don't think she had to be operated on multiple times), I can still see the scar on the left side of her chest when she's wearing a low-necked top, like she often does, and I sit across from her at the dinner table. I may not have much experience with this, but that doesn't stop me from caring about other people, and about my future as someone with breasts. This can help prevent so much suffering, if you let it.
