Keeping art in the community is important because it not only brings people together but also creates a space where artists can share their stories. Cutting this out of Fanshawe’s program also makes art less accessible to those who can’t travel or afford to go to other colleges or universities farther away to make their passions a part of their lives. Keeping art alive in our community means teaching new generations about it, it would be a disgrace to Fanshawe to take this opportunity away completely!

Cutting band would rob students of their opportunities to make good memories that would last a lifetime. Band is HUGE for students, especially those who want to continue playing through all of middle and even high school. Cutting it now would be cutting away the hopes and dreams of the kids who just want to play an instrument! Band is one of the best things about school for those who are passionate. If I didn't have it, I don't know what I'd do. Give the kids something to look forward to. Don't cut the band!
