Killer Westley deserves to be unbanned from Empire Clash because, despite whatever past actions led to the ban, they could be given the chance to prove they've learned from their mistakes. Maybe they’ve changed their approach, and their behavior now aligns more with the community standards. Unbanning could serve as a statement of fairness, allowing for redemption. Plus, every player deserves a second chance to contribute to the game in a positive way. If they slip up again, that's on them—but they should have the opportunity to show they're not just another toxic player. What do you think?
I am a MHS 2012 graduate. I never got to experience the block schedule while I was there but I do agree and understand how the block schedule positively impacts the students and the staff. I personally probably would have done better in school if I had the longer classes. Please think about the students and staff in this situation. It wouldn’t be a fair decision for everyone. And if this discussion was brought up due to students skipping, it won’t make a difference. If a student is going to skip school, they’ll do just that, regardless of the schedule. I really hope this idea is thought out well before the decision is made.
I have also attended MHS with both regular schedules and block schedules, with the block schedules I was able to focus more in my classes and get more of my work done which meant I didn’t have as much homework to take home, this meant I could focus my time out side of school on my family, work, sports, and spending time just being a kid with friends who don’t last forever, once high school is over everyone goes their separate ways and everyone wishes that they had more time to just be a kid before adulthood takes over.
Adding more periods to the school day with shorter class periods will only do harm to Modoc High School, not good. It would be doing a disservice to both the faculty and students at MHS. Imagine going from having a flexible 130 minute class period, to not even a third of it! Students grades would fall more than ever, and students would restrain from participating in any sports. I myself am apart of the Student Site Council, and the schools' main issue is averaging for better test scores and encouraging students to come to school! Imagine what would happen to our already low numbers? What student would want to struggle with every aspect of class in the day crunched into just 40 minutes each? Imagine how many student athletes would be unable to participate in sports. Already students at MHS struggle to keep their grades up, now imagine cutting their oporunative time to forty minutes! Not to mention, HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL CLASSES need more than forty minutes! When has a food/cooking class only needed less than 40 minutes to require a class of 20 kids to make a meal? Since when has it taken less than 40 minutes for a class to complete a science lab or take a history test? How well do you think the students will succeed with P.E. when it takes 10 minutes to dress down and 5 to do role call? That is almost half of the entire class! Last but not least, the blatant disrespect for the genuine well being and opinions of both students and staff at MHS is disgusting. Our community needs to hear our voices, especially when it's immediately affecting us!
As a person who has attended schools with both block schedules and traditional schedules, in many ways I prefer the block schedule. The stress if school already greatly effects the mass if the students who hope for a successful future. Having only half of your classes in one day rather than all at once has helped me greatly. I'm able to have longer time to work in things I struggle with rather than having to turn in it immediately the next day. As well as the added addition of the minimum days with all of the classes, every Wednesday would be inefficient. If the minimum Wednesday days were not mandatory this schoolboard decision might have more beneficial weight behind it. However in the schools current state this would not work. Furthermore with how I've seen and experienced the function if the students, Block schedules give the students less stress, more time to live their life before the impending adulthood ,their last years, and more time to work on what they need.
I’ve attended high school on both a traditional bell and a block schedule. Having longer classes through block schedule allows students to learn without cramming their education into shorter periods so they can focus on comprehending material.
Adding more classes will be more stressful for not only students, but also teachers, I heard they are mainly doing this because students are skipping and also because teachers also are struggling to get to class to class switching from the middle school to the high school, that’s not gonna stop students from skipping, if they had more staff it wouldn’t be a problem, I think adding more classes is just gonna be stressful since we are constantly getting into harder classes every year, if half our school can’t even maintain 4 classes how are they going to maintain 7? We need to realize 4 long classes might be boring but at least we have the time to get work done. Teachers who have to run back and forth from the middle to the high school should have a certain schedule which allows them a break to prepare to be able to move from the middle school to the high school, it’s unfair to the teachers they have to go back and forth. This is coming from a 10th grade student who is very stressed with school enough we don’t need to stack more classes on classes or more work on work, thank you.
I was once in a shelter at Sarah’s Hope out in Baltimore. I can’t imagine being hurt at a safe haven. Someplace that took you from in living on the streets harming you, doesn’t make sense.

The Issue
I write this petition as a resident of Montgomery County, Maryland, a survivor, a mother, and an advocate for the rights and safety of our most vulnerable citizens. As someone that has personally experienced displacement throughout my childhood, I stand firmly against the growing safety risks we face in our area, specifically in homeless shelters, our goal is to provide support to the shelter, help assist homeless men and women, we are not just a marginal group of our society, but a significant part of the Montgomery County community. Many of us reside, work, and contribute to the growth of the County despite the hurdles that homelessness brings. It is time that our concerns are heard and addressed.
We urgently need to create a healthier and safer environment by tackling issues residents face within these shelters. Ensuring the well-being of our men, women, and families must be prioritized. It is of utmost importance that shelter facilitators receive sufficient education and training so that the mental health and overall welfare of shelter inhabitants are protected.
This is a call for the right to live in dignity and security. On behalf of the existing and upcoming advocates, I urge Montgomery County officials to review and rectify the conditions in places like shelters. Between the housed and unhoused; it's time to search for answers and better solutions.
