Climate Change
Climate change is a pressing global issue that threatens our planets future. With rising temperatures, worsening natural disasters, and melting ice caps, the need for urgent action is undeniable. Petitions on Change.org address a range of issues related to climate change, from calling on governments to adopt renewable energy sources to advocating for stronger environmental policies.
One impactful petition with thousands of signatures urges world leaders to commit to carbon neutrality by 2050, citing the urgency of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate the effects of climate change. Another petition highlights the importance of protecting endangered species and their habitats to preserve biodiversity in the face of environmental challenges.

Accommodations are a powerful lever for equity in schools, and a way to keep kids engaged in learning. It's an essential protection for so many children.
I worked for forty years with people with disabilities. I have seen so many positive changes in access to employment during this time. Section 504 requires physical and programmatic access so that people can participate in society. Striking down Section 504 will effect us all, even if we don't currently have a disability. We need the full participation of all our citizens. Don't allow barriers.
Three of our children are on 504 plans and/or IEPs at school. These plans have helped them immensely with not only their academics/grades, but also with their participation and aversion to the classroom. These basic accommodations not only help our children but the teachers themselves by helping them to better understand the needs of these kids as individuals instead of lumping them all together. These plans have literally changed their lives and cost the schools nothing to accommodate. Removing them would be an act of cruelty and nothing else.
I'm the parent of a child with autism and ADHD. My 10 year old daughter benefits from her 504 plan every single day at school. The accommodations help her succeed at reading above grade level, being included in class activities with her friends, and gives her the resources for emotional support when she needs it most. Please fight for her and every single person who is counting on you in the state and across the country to stand up for what is right!
Section 504 has been a lifeline for so many people, and it’s essential that our voices are heard. Its impact reaches far and wide, touching the lives of mothers (or fathers), veterans, and individuals of all ages. It plays a crucial role in our health, education, safety, and so much more.
As someone with disabilities, I carry dreams and hopes for a brighter future, and I truly want to make a positive difference.
The removal of Section 504 would mean taking a step backwards for our society. It would strip away our freedoms and basic human rights—rights that every individual deserves. I ask you, not just for the sake of others, but also for your own wellbeing. Each of us will feel the consequences if this essential support is taken away, and it will inevitably impact our loved ones too.
I genuinely believe that the world is capable of kindness and compassion. I implore you to consider this deeply. Please, let’s not lose what has been fought for so hard. Together, we can strive for understanding and progress. Please 🙏
