The Issue

Hey Oklahoma!

Have you been as confused as I have by some of the political ads showing up on our TVs, in our mailboxes, and in our text messages lately?

I recently received a campaign flyer that appeared to suggest an endorsement that had not actually been made. The more I looked into it, the more I found myself asking the same question I think a lot of voters are asking: Who is behind these messages, and why is it so difficult to figure that out?

No matter who you support, voters deserve clear, honest information. We shouldn't have to zoom in on fine print, research unfamiliar organizations, or play detective just to understand who is funding campaign materials and what interests may be involved.

Campaigns should be confident enough in their ideas to be upfront with voters. If a candidate believes in their platform, they should be able to explain it clearly without relying on confusing mailers, misleading impressions, or organizations that make it difficult for voters to understand where information is coming from.

This issue goes beyond any single candidate or election. Transparency is something every voter benefits from. Whether you're a Democrat, Republican, Independent, or somewhere in between, we all deserve the ability to make informed decisions based on accurate information.

That's why I'm calling for greater transparency in Oklahoma election campaigns. Voters should be able to easily identify who is funding political communications, who is responsible for distributing them, and whether any claimed endorsements are legitimate and accurately represented.

We shouldn't have to guess. We shouldn't have to investigate. We shouldn't have to wonder whether we're getting the full story. Let's make it clear that Oklahoma voters expect honesty, transparency, and accountability from anyone asking for our vote.

If you agree that voters deserve straightforward information and transparent campaign practices, please sign this petition and help send that message loud and clear.
