Future of Australia demand to end religious discrimination.

The issue

Children are the future of any Country. Sikh children have contributed to the prosperity of Australia since the 1800s. Sikhs made up more than 20% of the CommonWealth volunteer army (close to 1.5m served) in WW1. '74,187 Sikh soldiers died and a comparable number were wounded. Similar numbers of Sikh soldiers sacrificed their lives in WW2 fighting shoulder to shoulder with Aussie diggers. This spirit of duty comes from Sikhs religious articles of faith. One of the five articles of faith is 'Kirpan' a persian word which means, 'Kirpa' = compassion, mercy, and 'ann' = honor, Grace.

Baptised Sikhs must carry their five articles of faith upon their person at all times. Sikh children as young as 5 year old are often baptised and wear these five articles of faith.

However, the New South Wales Government and NSW Education department have been ignorant to the sacrifices of Sikhs they continue to make for the prosperity of Australia. They have decided to BAN the religious article of faith 'Kirpan' for baptised Sikh children at NSW Schools due to a single incident where 'Kirpan' was allegedly used by a Sikh child in self defence and the matter is in front of the court and the Government and education department should await the court's outcome.

By placing a BAN on carrying this sacred religious article of faith, the NSW Government and NSW Education department are responsible for religious discrimination and are acting against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The NSW Government DID NOT BAN ALL licensed weapon holder from carrying their weapons (guns etc) when one licensed weapon holder used his/her licensed weapon to injure someone similarly there are no reasonable grounds to BAN the sacred religious article of faith for all Sikh children based on just one incident which is yet to be adjudicated.

By signing this petition you are telling your Local NSW Member of Parliament that they will not lose your support/vote in the next State Election if they vote in the Parliament to overturn this discriminatory BAN.

Those Member of Parliament who do not voice their support to end this BAN and do not voice their support to hold an independent enquiry into the racial and religious bullying and discrimination against minority within NSW Schools and NSW Government department, should be held accountable by not recieving your support/vote in the next State Election.

Please share and sign this petition so we can end this ongoing racial/religious discrimination within NSW and live in peace and harmony.
