PETITION TO STOP the development proposed by New Urban West Inc. to rezone and construct over 100 high density non equestrian condominiums at 1105 West Riverside Drive on the site of the former General Motors training facility.

New Urban West has created and circulated elaborate propaganda stating their justification for this type of tract. The reasons, stated below, are why a development of this magnitude will negatively impact the property values in the neighborhood and forever alter the character of this unique community.  We, the signers of this petition, believe that the negative impact far outweighs any potential positive impact that they are suggesting.

 

REASONS THIS DEVELOPMENT IS THE WRONG FIT FOR THE RANCHO

 

Residents are Emotionally and Financially Invested in the Rancho

Equestrian Community Opposition

Creates Hazardous Conditions for Equestrian Residents and Children

Increased Traffic

Less Open Space

More Building Coverage

Higher Risk of Crime: Increased Potential of Non- Owner Occupancy

Higher Density on Nights and Weekends

Creates More Housing Inventory in an Already Flooded Burbank Condominium Market

More Pollution

More Wear and Tear on Roads

 

Even if you are not a Burbank resident your support is important.  The Developers must not be permitted to destroy one of the few remaining equestrian communities in Los Angeles when there is so much housing readily available.
