Verizon: Don’t Deface Our Block For Your Profit

The Issue

We are upset that Verizon has placed huge, unsightly poles on our block (East 16 Street between Avenues J and K in Brooklyn, NY) and plans to wire these poles for FIOS.

Verizon should not have the power to deface residential neighborhoods by placing huge poles in front of houses and threading cables through beautiful, mature trees. This compromises property values, ruins the aesthetic integrity of the block, damages the trees and potentially poses a safety threat in inclement weather.
