Stop the Shell Shock – Don’t Double Our Electricity Rates!

Stop the Shell Shock – Don’t Double Our Electricity Rates!

The Issue

The Shell Energy contract recently approved by the Board of Supervisors is projected to DOUBLE electricity generation rates in San Francisco. What’s worse is that the money will be taken out of our pockets without our consent. After being automatically enrolled, many families will pay $500 more per year, and according to City figures, some families will pay up to $1,000 more per year under this system.

The contract will also hurt the economy by raising the City’s electric bill, costing taxpayers more and eating into budgets for vital city services. On top of that, the City is forecasting the loss of 100 local jobs – all so they can go into business with Houston-based Shell Energy.

It’s time to stop the Shell Shock! Sign the petition today and ask the Board and the Mayor to reconsider DOUBLING the electric rates of working San Franciscans!
