Children who have hearing loss need to be able to learn how to speak and function in the everyday "verbal world" that we live in. Hearing aids cost at least $2000 per hearing aid per child every 3-5 years. Hearing aids are generally not covered by insurance because they are classified as being "cosmetic." Hearing aids are not cosmetic, they are a necessity. We, as citizens of Illinois need to come together and support this cause.
