St. John's College is a very small liberal arts school focused on the importance of discussion and understanding.  Given this idyllic educational system we should have the opportunity to resolve our internal and personal disputes in a safe environment without being afraid of having our academic standing threatened.  The best way to accomplish this, I believe, would be to hire a mediator specialized in sexual assault, relationship, and family issues.  This person would not be someone that is also affiliated with the school on an academic basis, but on a social and interpersonal one.  If we were able to find the appropriate person, we would hopefully be able to give our student body the means to resolve their issues with discussion instead of retaliation.
