Petition to keep all three Southern Lehigh Elementary Schools in Operation

The Issue

In the Fall of 2013, Southern Lehigh Board Members drafted several options to deal with our two aging elementary schools. It has come down to this. On March 10th, 2014, the board will take a vote and decide the fate of two of our beloved community schools, Lower Milford Elementary and Hopewell Elementary.

The undersigned agree that all three elementary schools in the Southern Lehigh School District have a distinct value to each local community. We strongly request that the school board vote to continue operating all three. We do not want to create an environment in which students are compressed into two larger schools at such an early age.

We understand that future tax increases are pending regardless of the outcome. However, we also understand the return on that investment is a better-educated and well-rounded student that will take pride in his or her future community.
