Sierra Wildlife Rescue: Find a suitable sanctuary for bobcat kitten Chips.

The Issue

While it is important to maintain wild animals wild, sometimes Nature plays a trick. Chips the bobcat kitten was rescued from a wild fire in Plumas County and bonded with humans. She rubbed against the firefighters and that behavior was what got her rescued. Spraying her with water when she's nice to humans and trying to get her to be afraid of humans might or might not ensure her survival in the wild. She is a unique bobcat who is curious and loves humans. Why not find a sanctuary where she will be taken care of and given a break rather than forced to fend for herself.
She survived with burned paws and got used soft beds. She is still curious about humans despite Sierra Wildlife Rescue's attempts. Why not give this kitten the easy life? She's already been through a lot - why not give Chips, a forest fire miraculous survivor, a break? Find her a home where she can get along with humans and not deal with harsh mother nature.

Why not let her be a domesticated, friendly bobcat - an animal that can teach people about bobcats which are usually elusive, misunderstood and rarely seen by the public? Why doom her to an uncertain future in the wild?

Alex - We sent you the explanation of why this petition is based on extremely inaccurate reporting of the actual facts of the matter a few days ago, and expected you would share the information with anyone who has signed your petition. We are still receiving some notices about the petition, but are unable to respond personally to each one, since there are no addresses except this one. We would very much appreciate it if you would share our recent response to you with all the petitioners, and withdraw the petition.
