The superintendent and school board have decided to close the doors of Northside High School & Cypress Jr. High School July 1, 2014. We are here to tell them how significant Northside High School is to the community & the students who will be the intended victims of such poor decision making. Closing the doors to Northside High School will cause community devasation that no one can quantify; decrease the chance for student success and graduation; increase the tax payer financial burden for a community that will be robbed of the chance to sustain itself; Encourage student drop out; force families who already have situational hardship to bus children to out of district schools; Northside is NOT a failing school. Since when has closing schools in an economic downturn been the way to return government and the economy to model financial standing? Never! Please support this initiative by saying YES to leaving the doors of Northside High School open and returning the academic and vocational programming these students deserve to be exposed to.
