Stop Promoting Elephant Abuse

Stop Promoting Elephant Abuse
The Issue
As a Long Island resident, I am horrified that the Long Island Children's Museum is once again promoting the Ringling Bros circus. The museum is hosting multiple events in March 2012 where Ringling will market itself to kids and parents.
This is the same circus which was fined $270,000 for allegedly violating the Animal Welfare Act on several occasions from June 2007 to August 2011, according to a USDA news release.
Kids care about animals and want them to be protected, not beaten with sharp metal bullhooks and chained up as they're taken across the country to perform stupid tricks.
If you need proof of Ringling's cruel training methods you can see baby elephants being beaten as well as adults being abused. http://www.ringlingbeatsanimals.com/
Please tell the museum to cancel these events and any future partnerships with the circus.
You can also call (516) 224-5800 and post on the museum's Facebook page to express your concerns https://www.facebook.com/LICMpage
