Provide opt-in service for previous Xbox One features
The Issue
As was announced June 19th, 2013, the Xbox One will not have the controversial DRM and always-online requirements it had originally been announced with. Along with these changes however, they've removed some of the many benefits granted by their existence, benefits many of us gamers were looking forward to having.
Examples of benefits include:
- Family sharing with up to 10 members
- Installation of games to be played without the disc
- Tying games to account-wide library, so they can be accessed on any Xbox One console
As a result, those of us who were fine with the previous model are losing out on the progressive, digital-centric policies. While many others have indicated they do not want them, there are many who still do. Therefore, we need to give Microsoft a petition for additional flexibility in this arena by allowing us to "opt-in" for these types of features joined by their other requirements.
This would allow us, the consumers, the most possible flexibility for the future and hopefully sprout the seeds of progress that Microsoft is evidently trying to grow.
