Carnival Band Leaders Rights -"No Route, No Mas" - "Yes Route, Yes Mas" For 2013 & Onwards

This petition is on behalf of the Carnival Band Leaders who participate in the Miami/Broward Carnival every year. Some of us have been participating in this event for more than 20 years. This is a call asking the producers of the Carnival as well as the Miami Gardens City Officials to secure a route for us on the streets of Miami Gardens before entering the Sun Life Stadium on Sunday, October 13, 2013 (Columbus Day Weekend).

Carnival is a street Parade and we are the producers of the MAS. It takes, some of the bands, more than $20,000.00 USD to produce their band. We depend on our masqueraders to offset the financial cost. Our masqueraders will be decreased in number as well as our spectators and sponsors, if we continue this path by only showcasing our creativity in the Stadium, we will therefore be unable to produce our MASQUERADING BANDS.
