In an effort to keep pedestrians safe from the excessive speeds and aggressive drivers along Hagys Ford in Penn Valley, we request implementation of traffic calming measures between Conshohocken State and Old Gulph Rds. No fewer than three serious accidents have occurred in this stretch since the beginning of 2014. We've had countless near misses with school children and residents almost being hit by cars. There is no safe pedestrian refuge from the steep terrain, winding roadbed, and lack of ample shoulder along this busy, dangerous roadway. We also request improvements at the intersection of Hagys Ford Rd and Righters Mill Rd with increased law enforcement presence during school dismissal times, when drivers habitually ignore the posted speed restrictions. We cannot wait for the next accident to occur before requesting action.
