The Office of Economic Development asks citizens of Danville, Pittsylvania County, and surrounding localities to sign a petition to help recruit a specialty grocery store to Danville. 

 A specialty grocery store option such as Whole Foods, Earth Fare, Harris Teeter, Trader Joes, Fresh Market, Kroger, Bloom, Bi-Lo, Ellwood Thompson's, Publix, Wegmen's, Lowe's Food, etc.. will:

• ---Bring in more jobs and revenue for Danville.
• ---Provide healthy eating options.
• ---Educate on better diet options (organics, free-range, etc.).
• ---AND support our community and region, making use of our local farmers, ranchers, and other food products!

The nearest specialty grocery store is over 50 miles away in Greensboro, NC. We want to keep our dollars here in Danville, so why not bring something a little closer to home?

 The deadline to sign the petition is February 19.
