61 year old Jacqui Scott was raped and as a result of her injuries, underwent surgery to repair the damages. A surgical mesh from the USA was used and has since been withdrawn from the American market due to the fact it has been shown to disintegrate as it has done in Jacqui's case. Shards of disintegrating mesh are making their way through her abdomen, causing intense pain and if she does not receive the medical attention she needs, she will die. ACC is refusing to pay for the removal of the mesh implant which can only be done in the United States. Jacqui Scott is going to die because the New Zealand Government would rather save money than save lives.  I don't personally know Jacqui but as a New Zealander living in the US, it is unacceptable to me that my government is denying life saving treatment to a woman who has been victimized enough. I hope you will join me in petitioning the Minister of ACC so Jacqui can get the operation she needs.
