International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF): Allow brown belts to register their academy

The Issue

Currently, the IBJJF does not allow students of non-black belts to represent their school in competition.

Per the IBJFF website:

"What are the requirements to register my academy?
As a requirement, you must have a black belt, and have a valid membership ID card from the IBJJF. If you are a black belt and not yet a member or have a valid membership ID card, you need to click on the link to request your membership. If you’re already a member, you have the choice to renew your membership."

Their website also states:
"If I’m not a black belt?
If you’re not a black belt and your academy don’t have a black belt as responsible, please contact us by the e-mail: membership@ibjjf.com"

After emailing, their reply is as follows:

"Dear Athlete,

Thank you for contacting IBJJF.

As a brown belt you will not be able to register your academy.
It is an IBJJF rule that only black belts with a valid membership ID from IBJJF are allowed to certify new academies."

This rule punishes the hardworking students of non-black belts by not allowing them to compete under their schools banner.
