EBRPD: Don't kill RC modeling in the SF Bay Area

EBRPD: Don't kill RC modeling in the SF Bay Area
The Issue
RC Modeling is a highly rewarding and educational activity for people of all ages.
Space to safely practice it is limited.
Breuner Marsh field in Richmond is one of the very few places in the Bay Area to practice it without having to drive over 160 miles round trip. The Bay Area Radio Control Society (BARCS) - a non profit organization - has been flying from this site for over 30 years. During this time, not only hundres of members have benefited of enjoying this hobby but also, BARCS has been a pàying tenant, an excellent steward of the land, providing maintenance, public bathrooms and keeping people from dumping or sleeping in the area
Unfortunately, the EBRPD has unilateraly decided to evict BARCS from Breuner Marsh without an alternative plan. This means that RC modelling in the East Bay will be virtually unaccesible for most people, specially kids and the elder.
Furthermore, EBRPD plans to "improve" the land leave very little for human recreation.
We ask from the EBRPD to reevaluate their decision to evict BARCS and come up with alternative plans where Model Aviation and a park can coexist. Examples of this model exist across the country
