Six students at the University of Birmingham are being put through disciplinary procedures for their involvement in a peaceful protest between 20th and 28th November. 50+ students were involved in the occupation at the University of Birmingham among a wave of occupations at 11 other universities. These interviews are the beginning of a process which could end in expulsion for the 6 students. Not only does this involve singling out 6 individuals, an intimidation tactic condemned by unions and staff alike, but infringes on a basic human right to protest peacefully.
