Recognize you break your contract when you raise your fees and stop charging us early termination fees.

The Issue

Every 3 months Verizon changes their Regulatory fee. They clearly state that this is not a "Government Tax" in their contract. Also, researching with the FCC it states that this is a fee that wireless carriers may or may not pass on to their customers.

Now this fee is usually only a couple of cents, however if they raise all of their current 115 million subscribers bill by $.03 each month, that is a net of roughly 3.5 million dollars.

Please note the following from their contract that every single one of you signed.

We may change prices or any other term of your Service or this agreement at any time, but we'll provide notice first, including written notice if you have Postpay Service. If you use your Service after the change takes effect, that means you're accepting the change. If you're a Postpay customer and a change to your Plan or this agreement has a material adverse effect on you, you can cancel the line of Service that has been affected within 60 days of receiving the notice with no early termination fee if we fail to negate the change after you notify us of your objection to it.

The bolded part is the important part. If they increase your monthly bill at all, this qualifies as a material adverse effect and you are free to walk away from your play WITHOUT paying a early termination fee.

Even though it is clearly spelled out, Verizon and their Executive Office continually argue this fact making it extremely difficult to get away without paying outrageous fees.
