Andy Thomas: Developer: Stop the demolition of 368 Lyceum Avenue

The Issue

Lyceum Ave. has been targeted by Preservation Alliance as a key block to invest in because of its unique historic and architectural character. Currently there is discussion of expanding the Preservation Alliance project down to Manayunk Ave and incorporating street scaping etc.
This neighborhood is attractive to developers because of its historic character, Victorian architecture, stable property values, and open space. Yet the projects they undertake demonstrate a complete disregard and worse yet threaten and stand in opposition to the very qualities that attracted them in the first place. Development can be done well but this neighborhood hasn't seen it in the new construction.
