❤️ EMERGENCY: AZ Senators Must Secure 60 Votes NOW Save Thanksgiving for AZ families

The Issue

❤️ EMERGENCY APPEAL: U.S. Senators Kelly and Gallego Must Secure 60 Votes NOW to Save Thanksgiving for Arizona Families!

U.S. Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego, and all members of the United States Senate.

We demand that the U.S. Senate immediately secure the 60 votes necessary to pass the House-approved Continuing Resolution (CR) and restore emergency funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) before it is too late.

This is a Humanitarian Crisis, Not a Political Game.

The government shutdown, caused by political gridlock, has put nearly 900,000 Arizonans—including children, seniors, and veterans—at risk of losing their food assistance just as the holiday season begins. SNAP benefits are set to run out. This is not acceptable.

The debates over long-term policy—over healthcare, over budgets, over who is to blame—must stop for one moment. The lives of our neighbors depend on it.

The Ask is Simple: A Band-Aid to Stop the Bleeding.

We are not asking for a final, perfect budget today. We are asking for a simple, temporary measure—a Band-Aid—to ensure families can put food on the table this Thanksgiving.

The House has passed a bill. The problem is the 60-Vote Filibuster in the Senate. We urge Senator Mark Kelly and Senator Ruben Gallego to use their immense influence to immediately gather the remaining votes needed to pass the CR, end the shutdown, and unfreeze SNAP benefits.

"This is an immediate crisis for children facing hunger. We can fight our political battles tomorrow, but we must feed our people today."

Put Arizona People First!

No child in Arizona should go to sleep hungry because Washington D.C. can't find 60 votes for a temporary funding bill. Act with the thoughtfulness and heart that this crisis demands. Vote to open the government, restore the food, and then—and only then—continue the long-term fight.

Sign this petition and then CALL our Senators to demand they secure the 60 votes now!

The Script

(When the staffer answers, state your name and location first. They will ask if they can help you.)

Petitioner: "Hello, my name is [Your Name] and I am a constituent calling from [Your City/Town, AZ]."

(Staffer will likely confirm your address or ask the purpose of your call.)

Petitioner: "I am calling to urge Senator [Kelly / Gallego] to vote YES immediately on the Continuing Resolution (CR) that will end the government shutdown and restore SNAP funding for Arizona families."

(Pause to let them take a note. This is the main point.)

Petitioner: "I understand the Senator is concerned about expiring health care subsidies and other policy issues tied to this vote. However, the clock has run out. We are now facing a humanitarian crisis in Arizona."

(Deliver the core message—the emotional appeal and the "Band-Aid" approach):

Petitioner: "Nearly 900,000 Arizonans, including children and seniors, are facing the complete loss of food assistance right before Thanksgiving. This is an emergency. We need a Band-Aid to prevent starvation first."

Petitioner: "I demand the Senator put the immediate hunger crisis above all other policy fights for this one vote. Please, secure the 60 votes needed for the CR now. We can fight the policy battles over health care tomorrow, but we must feed our people today. Thank you."

(End the call politely):

Petitioner: "Please log my call as a vote in favor of passing the CR immediately to restore SNAP benefits. Thank you for your time."
