We, the undersigned, call on the UK Government, the Home Office, the Mayor of London, and the Metropolitan Police Service to take urgent action against the rise of violent robberies carried out using e-bikes, Surrons, and similar vehicles in London.

Criminals are increasingly using these fast, unregistered, and often illegal vehicles to commit crimes including muggings, car break-ins, and violent thefts of watches, phones, and jewellery. Innocent people are being threatened, assaulted, and even killed, with gangs operating openly on our streets.

The current response is not enough to protect Londoners. These vehicles allow criminals to escape with ease, embolden violent behaviour, and spread fear across our communities.

We demand:

Zero Tolerance Policing – Immediate and proactive police action when offenders are seen using e-bikes or Surrons to commit crimes.
Authorisation for Taser Use – Police officers to be empowered to use tasers where suspects using these vehicles threaten or endanger the public.
Stronger Stop-and-Seize Powers – Unregistered, unlicensed, or illegal e-bikes and Surrons used in crime must be seized and destroyed without delay.
Increased Sentences – Harsher penalties for those who use vehicles to commit robberies, assaults, or violent thefts.
Specialist Task Force – A dedicated police unit to tackle e-bike and Surron-enabled crime, with visible patrols and undercover operations in hotspots.
Londoners deserve to feel safe walking our streets, driving our cars, and living our lives without fear of being targeted by violent gangs. This is not petty theft — this is organised crime and life-threatening violence.
