We have only a few days before the Yulin Dog Meat Festival. Even if it all feels hopeless we just can not give up. This is not a weeklong festival problem, it is a all year long problem. We have to keep fighting long after June comes and goes. Nonstop pressure all year long will eventually end this useless cruelty. I have been an animal lover my whole life. I have birds, cats, bunnies, three dogs and a pet pigeon. I have been a pet groomer for 25 years. I can tell you that all animals are wonderful but dogs and cats REALLY ARE SPECIAL. Right from the beginning kittens and puppies want to be with their humans. They stay loyal to us as long as they are treated right. Being a pet groomer I have to figure out quickly how to communicate with a new dog. I need him to let me get the service done on his face, feet and fanny along with other delicate areas. Dogs are so smart and in tune with us. They figure it out quickly, most of the times. Dogs really have a connection with us that goes deep. The torture they endure makes it so hard to sleep at night. I wish we did not eat any animals. None of them deserve torture or cruelty. I am a part of a couple groups trying to end the festival and dog and cat meat trade. There are people over in Yulin right now sending back live video of dogs being slaughtered every day. Marc Ching a wonderful man doing wonderful work saving dogs over in Yulin.
