Dear Nigerians, for 60 years of our Independence we have experienced a surge of political plague, that have occupied our country highest offices. Our leaders came into power through a faulty, manipulated electoral system that have brought poverty, death and abuse to all of us. 

Majority of  Nigeria youths have spoken up during the ongoing #EndSARS Protest.  As young innovative, technological driven Nigerians, we have also come together to build a New Nigeria Electoral Reform, powered by Blockchain technology.

The Nigerian general election is the period of great decision making by each and everyone of us, where the great population chooses an individual or multiple individuals to hold public offices. Which is one of our most important civic-human right, exercised in any democratic form of Governance. The current electoral system managed by INEC is a centralize analogue controllable process with many loop holes that permits Election rigging, Ballot snatching, Violence at polling unit, and sadly whoever emerges winner is seen as the democratically elected in the country highest office.

THE REFORM: Electronic Voting Through Blockchain

To put an end to the challenges of the Nigeria current electoral system, to close the loops holes, to prevent rigging. We must first reform the entire system with an innovative modern technology. This is why, we present to you the electronic voting built by Nigerian Startup, a group of innovative Nigeria Youth. The technology uses electronic fingerprint recognition with systemic database Management of voters, where each vote is not stored in any Ballot box or Centralize server or database, but through a decentralize peer to peer Blockchain network. Allowing each of the voters mobile phones or laptops to have a copy of the Blockchain, with real time- dynamic display of results over the internet, mobile apps etc. Giving us a 100% secure, safe and fast voting process.

THE WAY FORWARD: Yes We Can

This petition is to compel Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to adopt an Electronic Voting system powered by a safe and secure Blockchain technology. For a robust and transparent electoral process, that guarantees free participation by all eligible voters, rich and poor, young and old, home and abroad without orchestrated obstruction, intimidation and manipulation of election results. A system that is secured and digital to guarantee transparency, citizens participation rather than elite controlled electoral process.

Let us make Nigeria great. But this cannot happen alone through peaceful protest without the push for certain legislation. As we continue to push those in power to the negotiation table through peaceful protest, we are requesting as vibrant, informed and educated Nigerian youths all over the world to support this petition that will legitimize E-voting and Diaspora voting in Nigeria.
