Representatives of John Newcombe condos met October 16, 2018 with 6 members from the Secrets Vallarta Bay and Now Amber Resort, Puerto Vallrta and its ownership group. THe meetgin was called in order to present a recommendation/report from Proteccion Civil - Puerto Vallarta's regulatory authority over noise and public safety. They inspected the site, took sound/sight measurements and agreed that the hotel was in violation of new city codes. The hotel manager, lawyer and architect agreed to resume discussions before the second week of December 2018, at which time they would present research findings/recommendations for a sound-reduction solution. We agreed to gather any recent findings and make recommendations on what we believe is a reasonable measurement of success (percentage rate reduction in noise/sight). Interestingly, we presented a simple low-cost - yet popular - solution combing Roxwool Insulation - a rot-heat-resistant audio-thermal insulator - and Durock Cement Board, and the lead architect deemed it too expensive. "..es muy caro!" The agreement to resume discussion by Secrets and Now was not without conditions - Secrets asked JNVillas to cease all social media campaign activity across all platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Chnge.org, Facebook and blogs etc, We have complied. The lawyer representing Secrets did not agree to sign/acknowledge the "recommendation order" from Proteccion Civil until further review, and asked instead for receipt of a pdf copy, confirmation by email and further review with his legal department, then follow up. We will report to Proteccion Civil, explain the refusal, and hear their recommendations, then prepare for another meeting in the coming weeks. Thank you for your support. We will keep you informed. Philip Dingman, JNVillas, Puerto Vallarta
