Kleinburg Needs Reliable Public Transportation

The Issue

The YRT currently does not have a stop in Kleinburg. There are plenty of people who cannot drive and must walk to the closest stop (Napa Valley and Islington Ave), which is over 30 minutes away. There no reasonable way to get around without having access to a car.

It limits our ability to work. Without consistent public transportation, we cannot commit to working specific hours lest we want to be stranded. Also, it prevents us from being able to find jobs outside of the community.

The lack of public transit also harms Kleinburg businesses. Local businesses are entirely cut off from typical Vaughan and Toronto patrons, as it is only accessible by driving.  Reliable public transit has the possibility of drawing more people to come to visit Kleinburg and support local businesses.

Our solution is to add two permanent stops to route 13 on the YRT - one near the McMichael Art Gallery and one at the Klein House's former extension stop.
