Please add your name in support of Lights at Wellesley High School Track & Field!

• School Committee Voted Unanimously in Support of Lights: School Committee voted unanimously in support of lights at WHS Track & Field and is presenting its proposal to NRC on November 18th.
• 97% of Resident Support Lights: Over 97% of Wellesley residents who wrote NRC support adding lights at WHS Track & Field.
• 100% of the Local Youth Sports Organization want Lights: The local youth sports organizations that represent over 5,000 children and their families want lights at WHS Track & Field.  
• Wellesley Police Department supports lights at WHS Track & Field.
• 100% of Comparable Towns have Lights: Every town Wellesley competes against in sports has lights and hosts night games.
• Needed for Practices and Games: Wellesley has the largest youth and high school sports programs in the state and a shortage of playing fields. Adding lights would create much needed field time for 25 WHS sports teams. 
• Safety: Playing contact sports in poor light conditions is a safety risk to Wellesley's student-athletes. Adding environmentally friendly LED lights would create ideal lighting condition for playing sports and reduce the risk of concussions and other sports injuries. 
• Highest Environmental Standards: The proposed LED lighting system has been Dark Sky Certified and will have the highest environmental standards of any high school sports facility in the country.
• Community Building: Hosting night games at WHS Track & Field would help build school spirit at WHS and a greater sense of community in town. 
• No Cost to the Town: The lights would be paid for through private donations at no cost to the town.
