SHUT DOWN BOARDING QURAN COURSES.
In both state-run and private boarding religious courses / sect-affiliated Quran courses, we frequently see — and even witness with concrete evidence — cases of beating and sexual abuse. Yet these already uneducated parents, instead of coming to their senses, continue to send their children to these dens of evil and even force their own children to go there, allowing their lives to be ruined.
Let’s put an end to this.
History may repeat itself, but if we are to save the children of the Republic of Türkiye, we must take action now. Today, there is no leader who enforces Law No. 677, adopted on 30 November 1925 and enacted after being published in the Official Gazette on 13 December 1925, which mandated the closure of dervish lodges, sect centers, and shrines.
Until 13 December 2035, for the closure of these so-called “centers of knowledge” — which traumatize our children and are now forgotten even by state authorities — add your signature too.
Despite the footage, the institution still remains open:
