Only a few weeks ago Irwin was again voted in as our Club Representative by a four to three vote.
Only last week a coup was initiated to remove him as he perhaps changed the balance of the Club Board.
I know that calls were divided out by the Club directors to members of our Board immediately prior to an emergency vote called to get rid of Irwin.
I believe there was collusion by some of the Club directors to influence the vote and predictably our Building Board voted this time to get rid of Irwin.
It was a foregone conclusion what would occur regardless of my attempt to present a true evaluation of Irwin's capability and contribution to both our “D” building and the Club.
Clandestine discussion between just a few members of our board prior to the vote decided our replacement representative.
Those likely to be in favour of Irwin were excluded.
We currently have seven members on our Board and again currently a four to three split so it was essential to persuade the fourth how to vote.
Its quite possible our new representative may well perform well and in the interests of primarily our building then the Club and I shall give him the benefit of doubt until he proves himself but I firmly believe that we previously had an excellent representative in Irwin who should have still been in office.
