Le problème

Being visible should not mean being a target. LGBTQ people deserve more than promises of protection—we deserve accountability.

X's hateful conduct policy prohibits attacks based on sexual orientation and gender identity. But having a policy is not the same as enforcing it.

In its 2026 review, GLAAD flagged missing hate-speech enforcement reporting and gave X just 29 out of 100 on its LGBTQ platform scorecard—the lowest score among the six platforms assessed.

There are troubling limits in the rules themselves. X's policy on targeted misgendering and deadnaming promises action only "where required by local laws" and requires the person targeted to come forward before it determines whether a violation occurred.

Whether you have ten followers or ten million, you deserve to know what happens when you report abuse. Was your report reviewed? Was action taken? Does the platform have enough trained people to respond?

We're calling on X to publish a current, detailed report showing how it enforces its policies against anti-LGBTQ hate and harassment, including:

Reports received: How many reports concern anti-LGBTQ hate and harassment, and how much violating content X identifies proactively.

Action taken: How many reports lead to content removal, reduced visibility, or account suspension; how quickly X responds; and how often it takes no action.

Safety resources: How many staff and contractors review this abuse, what training they receive, and which languages they cover.

X should publish these figures in a clear, accessible format, protect users' identities, and commit to quarterly updates.

Transparency alone will not stop hate. But it would let users, researchers, and advocates scrutinize X's response and demand improvements where it falls short.

Sign this petition to demand that X publish the data—not just the policy. LGBTQ safety should not depend on blind trust.
